DMV 2 Go & DMV Connect

The city offers two options for conducting business with the DMV. See below for the services offered by the DMV 2 Go bus and the DMV Connect. Please check the events calendar for dates.

DMV 2 Go Full-Service Bus


The handicapped-accessible, full-service office provides all DMV transactions including:
  • Applying for and renewing driver's licenses
  • Obtaining ID cards (including photos) and Virginia's veterans ID cards
  • Taking road and knowledge tests
  • Obtaining copies of driving records
  • Obtaining vehicle titles, license plates, and transcripts
  • Ordering disabled parking placards or plates
  • Updating an address after a move for DMV and voter registration
  • and much more.
Customers should be prepared with the required documents to complete transactions. Open to all Virginia residents. No appointments are necessary. The 2017 dates are as follows and usually on Monday, always from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

DMV Connect: Limited Services Available


Most services are available at the DMV Connect:
  • Applying for and renewing driver's licenses
  • Obtaining ID cards (including photos) and Virginia's veterans ID cards
  • Ordering disabled parking placards or plates
  • Obtaining vehicle titles, license plates, and transcripts
  • Purchasing E-Z Pass transponders
  • Compliance summaries
These 2017 events take place at the American Legion (400 N. Oak St.), usually on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and always from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.:
