The 2017 FCCPS Spring Break starts on April 10, and the City of Falls Church Recreation and Parks Department has plenty to keep your student engaged over the break.
Giant Basketball Academy
Former Washington Wizards and New Jersey Nets player Gheorghe Muresan and his coaches will teach the fundamentals of basketball. This camp will feature 1-on-1 skills, shooting, team play, defensive positioning, speed drills and competitions to further develop all-around players.
Superhero Creations This engineering and drawing workshop combines the best STEM fun with Superhero LEGO creations! Students will create their own unique Superhero characters in cartoon action scenes. Then build vehicles and hideouts of your caped crusaders.
Dance Yogi Dance yogi is an innovative, creative, fun, dynamic way for kids to learn and enjoy the ancient art form of Yoga! Through a decadent fusion of dance, music, rhythmic flow, balance, fluid body movement and art participants will transform. We will use beautifully choreographed Vinyasa flows to perform a series of dance routines to a host of beautiful melodies. On the last day of class parents get to observe the transformation for themselves in a live performance for an audience of parents to be held during the final 30 minutes of the camp.
Old Fashioned Cooking and Crafts Learn what life would have been like on a 19th century farm. Children will have a chance to grind corn in the barn, make and taste their own homemade butter, cornbread, and lemonade along with creating their own corn husk dolls and paper art.
