Past Meeting Information
The City Council referred Resolution TR17-15 for the Railroad Cottages Special Exception request to the following City Boards and Commissions and community organizations at their May 8, 2017 meeting: Planning Commission, Architectural Advisory Board, Economic Development Authority, Housing Commission, Human Services Advisory Council, Environmental Sustainability Council, Tree Commission Citizens Advisory Committee on Transportation, Recreation & Parks Advisory Board, Arts and Humanities Council of Falls Church, Library Board of Trustees, Historical Commission, and Village Preservation and Improvement Society. The Planning Commission held a work session on the project at their June 19, 2017 meeting (agenda materials can be found here).
The Planning Commission held a public hearing on the project at their July 17, 2017 meeting. With a vote of 4-1 (2 commissioners absent), they provided a recommendation of approval with conditions to City Council on the requested special exception.
The City Council held a public hearing on the project on August 14, 2017, and deferred a vote until September 11, 2017.
The City Council approved Resolution 2017-29 for the Railroad Cottages Special Exception with a 5-2 vote at the September 11, 2017 meeting.
