    In-Person Programs and Conference Room Use Suspended; Group Study Rooms Restricted to 3 or Less;  Masks Required in Library

    Due to concerns about the recent increase in COVID-19 transmissions in the DC area, all in-person library programs and use of library conference rooms are suspended through January 31, 2022. Group study rooms may still be reserved, but are limited to groups of 3 or less. All visitors age 2 and over, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear a mask in the library (and other City of Falls Church government buildings). Learn more...

Curbside Hours

Curbside Service will resume in the new building for limited hours:

  • Monday-Friday 12pm-4pm

meeScan - our NEW curbside pickup app!meeScan pickup patron view

As part of the libraries long term commitment to continue curbside service beyond the pandemic, the library is introducing meeScan, a library app with curbside capacities. Through the app, you will be able to request curbside pickup and monitor progress of your curbside pickup request while staff prepares your items for you.

How Curbside Pickup Works

1. Reserve your item online

You can reserve items through our online catalog. If you cannot get online, reserves can also be placed by calling the library at 703-248-5031 (TTY 711).

2. You'll be notified when your items are available for pickup 

When your items are ready - usually with 48 hours - you will receive an automated notification via email or text with instructions for Curbside Pickup. If you do not have an email address listed in your account, library staff will call to alert you.

3. Pickup your items via curbside

Once notified, you can pickup your curbside reserves at 120 N. Virginia Ave Monday-Friday between 12pm and 4pm. Please park in the curbside service spots located just outside the library on Virginia Ave.

When you arrive:

  • Open the trunk of your vehicle
  • Open the meeScan app and press START to notify staff you have arrived
    • Open the 'Pickup' tab and follow instructions in the app.
    • You will be able to monitor the progress of your curbside request through the app (see the image above for an example).
  • Staff will bring items out and place them in your trunk, keeping the interaction contactless for the safety of all!

Safety for Both Patrons & Library Staff

  • Staff who bring your items out to you will practice social distancing (maintaining a separation of 6 ft) and will wear a mask. They will wash their hands or use hand sanitizer between drop-offs.   
  • When you arrive to pick up your materials, please open your trunk and then stay in your car until library staff finishes delivering your items.
