    In response to COVID-19, the library building is closed to the public until further notice. We are offering contactless curbside pickup service, which can also be used to return items.

Outdoor Book Drop

Our outside book drop is still closed, though we are accepting returns via our curbside service model. More information on curbside returns below:

Curbside Returns

We can accept returns via curbside service:

  • Monday-Friday: 10am-6pm
  • Saturday: 10am to 6pm

Here's how it works:

  • Place materials in a disposable bag and put them in the trunk of your vehicle.
  • When you arrive at the library:
    • Open the trunk to your vehicle Note: if you have to get out of your car to open the trunk, please get back into the vehicle before you alert the library of your arrival.
    • Call 703-248-5031 (TTY 711) or text 70s-520-2484 to let library staff know you have arrived.
    • Staff will come out and remove the materials from the trunk of your car, keeping the interaction countactless for the safety of all!

Quarantine of Returns

Materials go into a minimum 48 hour quarantine before staff check them into the system. This means materials will remain on your account for a few days after you return them. We will check them in as soon as we are able to safely do so.
