Library Fees and Lost or Damaged Items

By applying for and receiving a library card you agree to:

  • Keep track of the due dates for your materials. Library reminder notices are a courtesy.
  • Return or renew items checked out on your card by the due date.
  • Pay the replacement cost for lost or damaged items checked out on your card.

We Are a Fine Free Library!

In an effort to remove barriers to service, we will no longer charge fines for overdue materials starting July 1, 2020. All previously assessed fines for overdue materials will also be forgiven. 

Lost, missing or damaged materials will remain on patron accounts until those materials are returned or the replacement fee for the material is paid depending on condition (see below for more information). Materials that are 30 days overdue are automatically billed to the patron account. If those materials are returned in good condition, the billed fee will be removed from the account.

Lost or Damaged Items

Lost or damaged materials are charged the full replacement cost as specified by the library's database and include a $5.00 processing fee. Because many library materials include special covers and processing, we are not able to accept replacement copies in exchange for lost or damaged items.
