Teen Summer Reading Program

Get in the game, READ! at the Library 2016
Thank you for your participation in the Summer Reading Program for 2016.  Over 2,200 children, teens, and adults signed up for the summer reading program and read 21,717 books!  Read our press release here: "By the Numbers: A Successful, Busy Summer at Mary Riley Styles Public Library".
How It Works
Come into the library to sign-up for the Summer Reading Program!  Once teens have read a minimum of 5 books and listed them into the teen book log, they are eligible for a free paperback that they can choose themselves from a large selection of titles and to enter the Teen Raffle. The library also offers a challenge game for strong readers for an additional prize if completed.

Local vendors contribute discount coupons as rewards for anyone who completes the required reading.  The Library Foundation provides the prizes for the Teen Raffle.

Programs & Events
Special programs, including performances and workshops held specifically for a teen audience, take place through mid-August. A schedule of events and list of local sponsors is available from the library each year by mid-June. All programs and events are also listed in the Mary Riley Styles Public Library calendar and in the Mary Riley Styles Public Library monthly newsletter.
