City Nature Challenge: Isaac Crossman Park

Saturday, April 27, 2019

Help show the world how wild The Little City is! Join us after the Habitat Restoration event to observe and catalogue as many species of birds, bugs, animals, plants, and any other wild living things we can find in Isaac Crossman Park.

Join Arlington Master Naturalist Amy Crumpton and City staff and participate in a global competition to observe and catalogue as many species of plants, birds, insects, fungi, lichens, and more as possible. Participants make observations using the iNaturalist phone app. The City Nature Challenge is a fun way for you to help the City of Falls Church collect natural resource inventory data on our parks.

To find more info on the City Nature Challenge and to download the iNaturalist app, please visit All age groups are welcome.

Enter the park adjacent to 501 Van Buren St. Street parking is available and please ensure you stay within the City limits. Follow the gravel path into the park and to our survey location.

Can't make it to the Saturday, April 27 event? Join us instead on Friday, April 26 at Howard E. Herman Stream Valley Park from noon - 2:00 p.m. or on Monday, April 29 in Cherry Hill Park from 10:00 a.m. - noon.
