The Department of Housing and Human Services is pleased to announce HUD funds are available for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships Programs for FY 2019. The funds are available to public agencies and nonprofit organizations to assist City of Falls Church residents with low and moderate incomes and may be used for housing development, rental assistance, social services, economic development and public services.

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program
CDBG is an annual grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to assist communities like City of Falls Church to provide activities and services to benefit households with low -and moderate incomes. This year the City of Falls Church will receive approximately $50,000 of CDBG funds through an agreement with Arlington County. The grant will fund activities such as public services, housing rehabilitation, homebuyer assistance, and economic development. These funds are awarded through a competitive process to eligible public agencies and nonprofit organizations and must be used to benefit households with low -and moderate -incomes.
Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program
HOME is an annual grant from HUD that assists the City to carry out a variety of housing activities. The City will receive approximately $20,000 through an agreement with Arlington County and will use this grant to provide funding to public agencies and nonprofit organizations for rental assistance to low and moderate income households, including City residents and persons working in the City.
