Cable TV
Cox Communications, DIRECTV, RCN, and Verizon Cable provide cable services to the City of Falls Church. The Falls Church City Cable (public access) station is available on Cox channel 11, RCN channel 2, and Verizon 35.

Verizon Cable: 866-788-3814 Electricity Dominion Virginia Power delivers electricity to City residents and businesses. Apply for service by calling 888-667-3000 (TTY 800-291-7745).
Gas Washington Gas provides natural gas service to City residents and businesses. Apply for service by calling 703-750-1000. If you smell gas or have an emergency, call 703-750-1400.
Telephone Verizon offers telephone service to City residents and businesses. Apply for service by calling 800-483-4000 (residential) or 800-483-5000 (business).
Vehicle Registration (State of Virginia) You must register your vehicle and acquire Virginia license plates within 30 days of moving to Virginia. After your vehicle passes safety and emissions inspections and you have insured and titled it, register your vehicle at any Virginia DMV customer service center or at the DMV Select Office located in City Hall: 703-248-5019 (TTY 711).
Vehicle Registration (City of Falls Church) Once you've registered your motor vehicle with the state, you must register it with the City. Complete the vehicle registration form and fax it, along with a copy of your temporary or current vehicle registration, to 703-248-5212. The Treasurer's Office will issue you a decal and bill. Decals may also be purchased at theTreasurer's Office: 703-248-5046 (TTY 711).
Water and Sewer Services TheUtilities Customer Service Divisionmanages water services connections, disconnections, and billing. Apply for service here or by calling 703-248-5071 (TTY 711).
Voter Registration New and transfer Voter Registration applications may be filed with the City of Falls Church DMV Select Office. (If you moved to the City from another Virginia jurisdiction, you must transfer your voter registration to the City.) You may do this at the Voter Registration Office in City Hall or when you register your vehicle with the Department of Motor Vehicles. You must register at least 29 days before a primary or general election or 14 days before a special election.
Taxes The Treasurer's Office handles tax billing, relief, and payments: 703-248-5046 (TTY 711).
The Office of the Commissioner of the Revenue handles business taxes, personal property tax assessments, and assists with income tax filing: 703-248-5065 (TTY 711).
The Office of the Real Estate Assessor determines the current market value of taxable and tax exempt properties as of January 1 each year. The City Council uses these values to determine the annual tax rate. Questions? Call 703-248-5022 (TTY 711).
Schools Parents should enroll school-age children as soon as they arrive in Falls Church City. For information on how to register your child, call 703-248-5600 (TTY 711). More information is available at www.fccps.org.
Parking Permits In order to park on certain City streets, you must have a parking permit issued by the Police Department. For more information, visit the parking permits webpage or call 703-248-5054.
Drive-Through Permits In order to drive through certain streets, you must have a drive-though permit issued by the Police Department: 703-248-5054.
Trash Collection and Recycling Collection The Department of Public Works Solid Waste Division provides refuse, recycling, yard waste, bundled brush and special bulk collections for single-family homes and townhouses located on public streets. Wednesday is Waste Day for all residential customers.
Pet Licenses Dogs must be vaccinated against rabies and licensed with the City. Licenses must be obtained within 30 days of moving into Falls Church City for dogs over four months of age. The license fee is $10 for fertile dogs and $5 for neutered/spayed dogs. Licenses are issued by the Treasurer's Office: 703-248-5046 (TTY 711). Dog License Application
