Hazardous Waste

Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generators (CESQG)
If you own a business and use toxic materials onsite, state and federal environmental regulations require that they are managed properly.

Businesses that generate a relatively small quantity of hazardous waste are referred to as CESQG and qualify for a special Fairfax County program that provides a legal and affordable solution to hazardous waste disposal. Three collection events per year are offered to CESQGs.

A CESQG is any business in the City of Falls Church (or Fairfax County) that generates:

  • Less than 27 gallons or 220.46 pounds of hazardous waste
  • Less than 2.2 pounds of acutely hazardous waste per month
See Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Subchapter I, Part 261.

Eligibility
To determine if your business is eligible, please read the information provided on the Fairfax County website or call 703-248-5456 (TTY 711).
