This marks the 13th time MRSPL has received a star rating since the index was introduced in 2008.
Statistics reviewed by Library Journal in its ratings include:

- Circulation of electronic Materials
- Library visits
- Program attendance
- Total Internet computer use
- Public Wi-Fi Sessions
- Electronic retrieval (of articles and other resources)
MRSPL was awarded 4 stars (out of a possible 3, 4 or 5 stars) and was one of only 30 libraries nationally to earn stars in its budget range ($1M - 4.9M). The 2021 index derives from data recently released by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) for FY19.
